Jack Dwyer Golf Tournament

Over the last three years, the Dwyer Family has become quite a community presence with its golf tournament in memory of Kathy Dwyer. Each year, the Dwyers have donated the proceeds of the tournament to the Foundation, totaling more than $150,000 in the past five years!

These proceeds go directly to GCF programming, such as Cancer Hope & Remembrance Observance Weekend and ChemoChic. The Dwyers are committed to making a difference in all aspects of cancer care, and GCF is committed to helping them do that by providing these important community programs.

Radiant Systems, LTD

Radiant has been an outstanding partner with GCF for the last several years. The company has put together events benefiting GCF as well as payroll campaigns that have been instrumental in providing important programming for the community.

The Sprint for Cancer @ Atlantic Station, formerly the Radiant Run, raised over $100,000 for the Georgia Cancer Foundation (GCF) in its fifth year. The event, sponsored by Alpharetta-based Radiant Systems, has raised over $200,000 for GCF since the inception of the run.

Community Health Charities of Georgia

Community Health Charities of Georgia, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for 50 of Georgia's leading health charities through workplace donor campaigns, supports the Georgia Cancer Foundation. This enables the Foundation to receive philanthropic support through payroll deductions, either through Community Health Charities of Georgia’s general fund allocation process or direct designations.

In addition, the Foundation was previously selected to receive the Community Health Charities "Health Agency Award" in recognition of entrance into membership with the kind of spirit and understanding that can help not only the Foundation but GHCG and its other members.

Community Health Charities of Georgia welcomes participation by interested employers of any size. If your company is considering a charitable payroll deduction campaign, please call the Foundation's Director of Development at 770-640-5529, ext. 11.

Sisters of Faith

GCF recently announced its new partnership with Sisters of Faith (SOF), a breast cancer awareness group founded to address the crisis of breast cancer among African-American women. The partnership will promote GCF’s low-cost mammogram program, which brings preventative care to medically underserved, low-income women.

SOF, through its partnerships with African-American churches in the Atlanta area, promotes breast cancer awareness in a subpopulation that has been largely un-reached by the mainstream awareness message. By partnering with GCF, who has a well-established network of providers throughout the Atlanta area, SOF now has a low-cost mechanism to further encourage women to receive breast cancer screening.

Big Tattoo Wine

Two Brothers Winery, a partnership between brothers Erik and Alex Bartholomaus, released their debut wine, Big Tattoo Red 2001, in autumn of 2002 as a way to raise funds for cancer research and Hospice care in memory of their mother, Liliana S. Bartholomaus.

Alex Bartholomaus, President and C.E.O. of Billington Wines in Springfield, Va., created this unique blend in Chile. Alex then teamed up with his brother Erik, an established world-traveling tattoo artist, to design a fun label that would remind the two of their mother. Erik designed the label and they named their creation Big Tattoo Red.

It was the Bartholomaus brothers' goal to honor their mother, who lost her battle against cancer in 2000. They wanted to do this in a creative and beneficial way. These fun wines boast a label with a Fleur de Lys, Liliana's favorite symbol, and their labels stand out on any retailer's shelf. The popularity of the wine soared during 2003, popping up on wine shop shelves and restaurant wine lists nation wide.
