Georgia Cancer Foundation and Sugo Restaurant and Tapas at Roswell Crossing recently announced a partnership to help fight cancer in Georgia. Sugo donated proceeds from two separate events to the sixth annual Radiant Systems Sprint for Cancer road race (Sunday, April 20), from which one hundred percent of the proceeds go to GCF.
All money from a raffle during an April 6 dinner and wine pairing, as well as 10% of proceeds from Sunday, April 11, dinner sales – more than $900 – was donated.
“We are very thankful to Sugo for making GCF the recipient of their generosity,” said Rudy Morgan, GCF Executive Director. “Private businesses such as Sugo can make a big difference in Georgia’s fight against cancer and we hope other businesses around the state will take notice.”
John Mattson, Executive Chef at Sugo, said the decision to make GCF the beneficiary of their kindness was a no-brainer.
“My wife recently had a cancer scare, and while she has been cleared by her doctors, it opened our eyes as to how prevalent cancer is and that it can affect anybody.”
The Radiant Systems Sprint for Cancer is a 5K and 10K charity road race organized by Radiant Charity Corporation, the non-profit giving arm of Radiant Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:RADS). It will be held in the Atlantic Station district of Midtown Atlanta on Sunday, April 20. One hundred percent of the proceeds benefit GCF. Last year’s race featured more than 1,000 runners and raised $101,280 for GCF and its programs.
