The seventh annual Jack Dwyer Golf Tournament and Silent Auction (JDGT), will be held August 18, at the Woodmont Golf club, 3105 Gaddis Road, Canton, GA. All proceeds go to the Georgia Cancer Foundation (GCF).
JDGT is held in memory of Katherine A. Dwyer, who succumbed to lung cancer on December 26, 2000. She was Jack’s wife of 42 years, mother of seven, and grandmother of 13.
“This is a wonderful way to celebrate those we love, and honor those who are no longer with us,” said Rudy Morgan, Executive Director of GCF. “We are extremely thankful to the Dwyer family, and to everything they are doing to help cancer patients and their families in our community.”
Registration will take place from 8 to 9:30 a.m. The putting contest begins at 8:30 a.m., followed by the four-person Lauderdale Shotgun start at 10 a.m. The silent auction will run all day.
Held annually since 2002, JDGT has become one of the primary fundraisers to GCF, raising over $150,000 and helping to improve the quality of life for cancer patients and their families.
