“Every Runner Has a Story” Chosen as Theme for Fifth Annual Road Race Benefiting Georgia Cancer Foundation
The Fifth Annual Sprint for Cancer @ Atlantic Station road race, organized by Radiant Charity Corporation (RCC) and benefiting the Georgia Cancer Foundation (GCF), will be held in the Atlantic Station district of Midtown Atlanta on Sunday, April 29. The theme for this year’s race is “Every Runner Has a Story.”
The Sprint for Cancer @ Atlantic Station is a 5K and 10K charity road race organized by RCC, the non-profit charitable giving arm of Alpharetta-based Radiant Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: RADS). One hundred percent of this year’s proceeds will benefit GCF. The race is planned entirely by Radiant Systems’ employees, who volunteer their time to be part of the event and execute all race logistics with the assistance of other volunteers and sponsors. Last year’s race raised more than $65,000.
“Our theme for 2007, ‘Every Runner Has a Story,’ recognizes the intense personal nature of each runner’s motivation, which parallels the dedication of the Georgia Cancer Foundation to provide cancer outreach and personal support to patients and families affected by cancer,” said Chris Lybeer, President of Radiant’s retail division and Chairman of GCF. “As we prepare for this year’s race, we recognize the courage of our friends, neighbors, and coworkers who have been affected.”
“It’s great to be kicking off our fifth year of partnership with Radiant in this charity road race” said Rudy Morgan, Executive Director of GCF. “This event raises much-needed money for programs dedicated to improving the quality of life for Georgia’s cancer patients and families.”
