Georgia Cancer Foundation (GCF)—a statewide 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to cancer education, early detection, and support—recently honored breast cancer survivors at its 24th Annual Celebration of Life (COL) Luncheon & Fashion Show.
This year’s COL, presented by GCF program Bosom Buddies of GeorgiaSM, was held on March 24 at the Crowne Plaza Ravinia on Ashford Dunwoody Road. Over 320 people attended the program, themed “The Power of Pink.” Parisian Gwinnett Place Mall, Tanger Outlet Center of Locust Grove, and World Financial Group were the top sponsors of the event.
“It’s thrilling to see so many survivors from all over the state coming together to celebrate each other,” said Rudy Morgan, Executive Director of GCF. “These brave women are what drive the success of our organization.”
The program began at 10:30AM with attendees gathering to enjoy a social hour, silent auction, and an exhibitor showcase. Guests were escorted into the ballroom at 11:30, where lunch was served as 2007 COL Honorary Chairperson Liane Levetan, Keynote survivor speaker Valery Voyles Singleton, and other speakers gave inspirational addresses.
The highlight of the program was the fashion show, during which breast cancer survivors modeled the newest fashions provided by COL sponsor Parisian Gwinnett Place Mall. The show, emceed by FOX 5 Atlanta’s Beth Galvin, featured 17 models.
