Family-owned Winery Donates Proceeds to Georgia Cancer Foundation

In 2000, when Liliana Bartholomaus lost her battle with cancer, her two sons Alex and Erik searched for a meaningful yet fun way to honor her memory. In 2002, they created Two Brothers Winery, and developed Big Tattoo Wine, the sales of which have benefited numerous charitable organizations for the past four years.

In honor of Liliana, and the hospice workers who helped her during her illness, proceeds from each case of wine sold are donated to cancer research foundations and hospices throughout the U.S.

Fifty cents from each bottle of Big Tattoo wine sold in Georgia is donated to the Georgia Cancer Foundation (GCF).

“Big Tattoo Wines is helping so many organizations throughout the country, and we’re thrilled to be among them,” said Brenda Horne, Executive Director of GCF. “What a wonderful way to honor a loved one.”

As of August 2006, Big Tattoo Wines has raised $786,761 nationwide.
The label of each bottle of wine features a fleur-de-lis, which was Liliana’s favorite symbol. That artwork was designed by Erik, a world-traveling tattoo artist, and is tattooed across the chests of each brother in memory of their mother.

Big Tattoo wines are available throughout Georgia. The winery has created Big Tattoo Red, Big Tattoo White, and Big Tattoo Syrah, all three of which have received rave reviews from food and wine publications.

So the next time you are in the market for a bottle of wine, lift the spirits of the Georgia Cancer Foundation by purchasing Big Tattoo Red, White, or Syrah.
