The answer is simple: By supporting Georgia Cancer Foundation (GCF) –– a statewide non-profit organization that offers innovative programs for Georgia residents affected by all types of cancer.
By supporting GCF, you can join in the fight against this deadly disease and help to improve the quality of life for cancer patients and their families through education, early detection/screening, and support.
The first step is education. In an effort to provide cancer awareness to all Georgians, GCF hosts forums such as Cancer Town Halls, which focus on providing the public with pertinent information from Georgia’s experts about cancer issues affecting both adults and children. In addition, through its offerings of Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits and specialized symposia, GCF keeps Georgia's medical community up to date on the latest in cancer care.
Early detection/screening is the second objective in GCF’s three-pronged approach. GCF –– through partnerships with other local organizations and healthcare providers –– offers its flagship Low-Cost Mammogram Program, which brings affordable breast cancer screenings to women in need throughout the state. Through this program, hundreds of Georgia’s unemployed, uninsured, or underinsured women receive potentially life-saving mammograms every year.
The final step in GCF’s multidisciplinary approach is support. GCF and its programs, Bosom Buddies of Georgia (BBG) and ChemoChicSM (CC), offer various support groups and aids for Georgians affected by all types of cancer. These programs empower cancer patients with the confidence to live healthier, more fulfilling lives.
As a result of the dedicated efforts of GCF and other organizations like it, Georgia has made significant advances in the fight against cancer. With your help, GCF can continue performing its crucial obligations of education, early detection, and support.
