About the Georgia Cancer Foundation

The Georgia Cancer Foundation provides education, early detection, and support for Georgia residents affected by all types of cancer.

GCF was originally founded in 1975 as the Southeastern Cancer Foundation. The organization received its 501(c)(3) not-for-profit designation in 1976.

The name was changed to Georgia Cancer Foundation in 1997. In 2004, the Foundation acquired several women’s cancer services through Bosom Buddies of Georgia, which now serves as GCF’s support group network.

The foundation is a recognized leader among cancer service organizations in Georgia. Its programs are designed to enhance the delivery of cancer care for all Georgians.

Georgia Cancer Foundation—based in Atlanta—provides education, early detection, and support for Georgia residents affected by all types of cancer. Through its innovative programs and extensive support group network, the Foundation caters to newly diagnosed patients, those currently undergoing care, and survivors—as well as those in need of low-cost early detection.
